Historically Inaccurate

It’s 4 o’clock here on the day of the “Historic Blizzard”.  (Really, how can something be historic if it hasn’t happened yet?)
And so far, NO SNOW.
If you look at a weather map right now, this minute, there is a big blank spot on the map right over Albany, NY extending to the VT border.  You will notice there is no precipitation there at all.  If you look very closely you might be able to see our farm right in the middle of that void.
There are, just now, a few cups’ worth of tiny snowflakes rattling around in the air outside the kitchen window.
Our update says ½” this evening with snow showers beginning again in the morning.
This has made for a disappointing day in this house full of boys.

  1. You are very lucky. We have 2 feet so far and it is still coming down. Our doors are snowed shut and our windows are covered in snow. We are snowbound. Our poor dog does not know where to releave herself. I thank God that we still have power.

  2. We did the same thing here in Michigan! We had 6-12" predicted to start mid day. We waited and waited, the funny thing is when we looked at the radar map from about 2p.m., we were getting snow. We didn't see a flake until 10 that night!
